Competition Team
2026-2027
General Information:
- Students must be at least 8 years old on the day of the intensive to participate.
- The intensive is primarily to determine what level each student will be competing at. During the intensive, students will have the opportunity to work a coach/choreographer to develop their concept for their competition piece. Studio Director will have the final say on concepts.
- Once the Fall Flymester begins, flyers and parents will be required to have a meeting with the Studio Director to finalize the season specifics for said flyer: - Assigned level - Assigned apparatus - Grounds class suggestions - Contract signing
- This team is planned to travel to 2 to 3 competitions outside of state
Other details:
Intensive Week - August 17 - 21, 2026 (9am to 12pm)
- Intensive Week is where students will put together their routines for the season in a short amount of time. - Performance Team members will also put together their group routine to perform at Celebrate Hudson a few weeks later
Routines
- Unlike studio showcases, a performer's competition routine will be primarily choreographed for them. - Routines will be choreographed with the student's skill and artistry taken into consideration, but also with the goal of being repeatable and clean.
Commitment
- Performers must be enrolled in at least 4 classes at InFlyte, one of which must be in their performing apparatus, one grounds class, and the competition team class (Fridays), and one of their choice.
- Competition Team "class" will be once a week, focusing on technique and conditioning.
- Competition Team will have a joint in house competition and banquet with the Performance Team.
- Extra rehearsals as the Director sees fit. - Performers will only be allowed a certain amount of excused absences a Flymester for both recreational and competition team classes.
Tuition
Competition Team Tuition will cover:
- Weekly competition class
- Entry/Registration Fees for the season's competitions
- "Uniforms" (Jackets, sweats, costumes, etc...)
- Team application fee
- Costumes
- Competition Admission for one adult and performer
